WWWE Logo Field

A field is an area set aside for some form of input data. Fields generally are of predetermined size and are usually limited in terms of the acceptable form(s) of input. The term is most commonly used with databases, where each heading, such as name or address, is linked to specific columns or cells. Search programs commonly offer fields for the insertion of specific search terms. Fields for data input are created with TEXT input objects in HTML.
